OUR BELIEFS THE BIBLE is the Word of God. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is the supreme source of truth for all Christian beliefs and practices. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5) GOD is the Creator & Ruler of the universe. He is one God in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is infinite and personal, holy and loving, forgiving & just. (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14) JESUS CHRIST is the eternal God who became a man, lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and was bodily raised from the dead. He ascended to Heaven’s glory & will return some day to reign forever. (Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5, 14: 10-13; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3-4; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 4:14-15) THE HOLY SPIRIT is God’s presence in the world today. He makes people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He comes to live in every believer at the moment of conversion, and provides power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and personal guidance. The Holy Spirit also gives every believer spiritual gifts which are to be used in ministry to others. (John 16:7-13; 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; 12:4-7; Ephesians 1:13-14; 5:18) HUMAN BEINGS are created by God in His image. They are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” This attitude separates people from God & causes them to miss out on God’s plan for their lives. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23) People were created to exist forever, either eternally separated from God by sin & personal choice in a place the Bible calls “hell”, or eternally present with God in heaven through salvation. (John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Philippians 3:20-21; 1 John 2:25; 5:11-13; Revelation 20:15) SALVATION is a free gift received from God. We can never make up for our sins by self-improvement or good works, so we must place our faith in Jesus Christ as God’s provider of forgiveness. This faith involves committing one’s life to Jesus as Lord. (John 1:12; 14:6; Romans 3:21-26; 6:23; 10:9-13; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5) Our salvation, being a gift of God, is secure. It is maintained by the grace and power of God, not the self-effort of the Christian. (John 5:24; 10:27-29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; 10:10-14; 1 Peter 1:3-5) THE CHURCH is the Body of Christ on earth. The term “church” has both a universal meaning (all Christians of all time) and a local meaning (individual congregations like Del Sol). Each local church has the responsibility of deciding its own doctrinal boundaries according to its understanding of the Bible, and determining how it can most effectively contribute to the fulfillment of God’s purposes on earth. (1 Corinthians 16:19; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Timothy 5:17) MARRIAGE is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man & one woman, instituted by & publicly entered into before God. Therefore, God’s command for human sexuality is that it should be enjoyed only within the biblical definition of marriage between a man & a woman. Husbands & wives are of equal worth before God. Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing & heritage from the Lord. (Genesis 2:24; 19:5,13; 26:8-9; Leviticus 18:1-30; Matthew 19:4-6; Romans 1:26-29; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:9; 7:2-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4) COLABORAMOS CON Del Sol es una iglesia independiente, bajo la dirección de un equipo pastoral, con la supervisión espiritual de un concilio (junta de ancianos). We want all children to know Jesus in a personal way and have a growing relationship with Him. Our well-trained volunteers work every weekend to make sure your kids feel loved, have fun, and encounter God. We know how important it is to make sure your children are safe, protected, and healthy with us. You’ll feel comfortable checking your kids in each week with our secure check-in process. A friendly volunteer at the kid's check-in area can help you navigate our security system on your first visit. All of our teachers love kids and pass our screening process, which includes thorough background checks. Our goal is for you to enjoy the weekend worship celebration service, knowing your kids are secure while having a great time. Del Sol Kids is here to encourage children to take their next step with Jesus. We have created places where your child can have fun while learning about God during the weekend worship services. Nursery and preschool kids are cared for in smaller groups by our trained, friendly, caring volunteers. Preschoolers follow a structured time including crafts, Bible stories, songs, and snacks. Elementary-aged kids are split by grade level groupings where they will experience age-appropriate, engaging Bible teaching that will challenge them and help them grow in their faith. No. Membership is not about perks or discounts like in a club, but more like a pledge to grow as a follower of Jesus & help others in the church do the same. Will I be pressured to become a member at the class? Nope! This is a voluntary next step for someone who is ready to make a commitment to the church but there is no pressure or obligation to join. In fact, at nearly every class there are some who need more time to think about it, and that’s no problem. Are there any ministry areas or activities that require me to be a member? There are many ways to be involved without being a member, but there are some crucial roles in the church where membership is required. Why? Because membership is a commitment to the church & to follow the leadership so long as they stay humble & submitted to God. Because of that, these are the roles that are reserved for members of Del Sol: - Roles with high spiritual impact in the church (Church Council member, prayer team, church committees, etc.) - Roles where sensitive personal information is handled (church office volunteer, paid staff member, security team, etc.) - Roles that involve teaching the Bible or discipling others (kids or youth leader, small group leader, etc.) - Roles that give responsibility for the development & direction of a ministry (men’s & women’s ministry, young adult ministry, Mother of Preschoolers, etc.) Requiring membership for these roles ensures accountability for those who have authority & influence in the church. This is not a demand for perfection as a leader, but a way to ensure that those serving in these roles are believers who affirm our core beliefs, are in alignment with our strategy of ministry, and are committed to pursue loving unity with others in the church. What if I’m not ready to become a member? That’s okay. There are many ways you can be involved in the life of the church. You can join a small group, volunteer in a ministry team, invite others to the church, serve at special events, and get involved in other ways that are not teaching or leadership roles. You can read more about the handful of roles where membership is required in the question above. For how long will I be a member? Your membership will last for as long as you choose to be a member of Del Sol & remain in agreement with the membership covenant. The covenant is not a checklist of behavior, but it is a challenge to actively support the church by sharing the responsibility, supporting the message, protecting the unity, and making a difference at Del Sol.

ORDINATION OF RICK LOVELADY AS A PASTOR Friday, July 19 | 6:00 pm Del Sol's East Campus 11501 Vista del Sol Ordination as a pastor is an important, biblical ceremony that goes all the way back to the first Christians in the book of Acts. The Bible lays out some specific considerations before laying hands on someone to endorse them as a pastor. They are found in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:6-9, and of course a pastor should show the fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23. We are thrilled to say that Rick has been examined by our Church Council and found to meet all those standards! Consequently, the Church Council has prayerfully decided to publicly affirm his call as a pastor at this important churchwide event. We hope you'll be there for this important churchwide event, Del Sol'ers! My name is Rick Lovelady, and I am the Lead Worship Minister for Del Sol Church. It is my privilege to lead people into God’s presence every Sunday at our East Campus and to lead a team of Worship Leaders who do the same at our other campuses. I am blessed to have been married to my high school sweetheart, Kristin, for 13 years and to be a father of 2 sweet boys, Hunter and Declan. They are 6 and 2 years old, and they are a gift to us from the Lord! I have served at Del Sol as a worship leader for 13 years. I started in 2011 as an interim worship leader at our Northeast Campus, where God made it clear that I was called to serve Him in ministry as a career. At the end of 2014, I began serving as the worship leader at our newly opened East Montana Campus. I served there until I was called to serve as the Lead Worship Minister at our East Campus in 2022. I am thankful to the church and the Church Council for supporting me in these ministries and believing in me for the future. My prayer is that God will continue to bless His church and that I get to play a small role in that through my ordination and future ministry.
