Development Director & Northeast Campus Pastor
(FULL-TIME)

We are a multi-site Texas Baptist (BGCT) church in a city that is estimated to be 96%

non-evangelical, so our mission is to help everyone, everywhere know & follow Jesus - starting in our city.

This is a full-time, dual role of pastoring a specific campus of the church while also working with the Lead Pastor to direct future development of the whole church, all 6 campuses. Our Lead Pastor works with the campus pastors in message preparation, then each campus pastor must internalize & "own the message" before preaching it themselves on Sunday. Because we are one church family meeting in several locations, or one house with several rooms, campus pastors also have church-wide leadership responsibilities.

Del Sol is a bilingual church (English/Spanish), though English is our main language. Applicants should have a heart for collaborating with our Spanish-speaking pastors to equip people in both languages to know & follow Jesus, even if you are not bilingual yourself. -- As Development Director, you would collaborate with the pastors & staff to build then implement sustainable systems to develop leaders in the church, equip believers to grow in their faith, identify new income streams beyond tithes & offerings, and ensure that the administrative needs of the whole church are taken care of – all to help position us for a healthy, growing future. This would likely be about 60% of the job.

-- As Northeast Campus Pastor, you would embody & carry the culture of Del Sol by leading & coaching campus staff, shepherding the congregation, and taking responsibility for growth, health, and alignment of the campus within the overall mission & direction of the whole church. This would likely be about 40% of the job.

WHAT A STRONG CANDIDATE WOULD LOOK LIKE:

  1. A passion & sense of calling to serve at Del Sol for years to come.

  2. Spiritually mature, devoted follower of Jesus who, along with his wife, is growing in Biblical knowledge and the ability to apply it in life.

  3. Creative, inventive, and outward-focused, not afraid to prayerfully think of/research new strategies to reach non-believers & disciple followers of Jesus.

  4. Self-aware, self-starter who humbly demonstrates the Fruit of the Spirit & is a good steward of his God-given time, talents, spiritual gifts, and possessions.

  5. Relational leader who gets along well with different people, and can communicate clearly & confidently whether in large groups or one-on-one.

  6. In full alignment & support of Del Sol’s theology, vision, values, direction, and methodology.

  7. Able to think big picture & help build the future of Del Sol through discipleship, community partnership, and administration of the whole church.

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1.  Married at least 4 years, preferably with kids.

  2.  Previous ministry leadership experience (3+ years) in a church or para-church organization, either on staff or as   a high-level volunteer.

  3.  Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university or seminary

  4.  A strong heart to reach young military families.
