FREEDOM BELONGS TO EVERYONE
“I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
– Jesus in Matthew 25:36
The Sanchez campus is not a ministry or a project; it’s a full-fledged campus and a very important part of our church family. We believe in fulfilling Christ’s command to visit those in prison so we live that out by building relationships with offenders, their families, and the administration of the jail.
Our volunteers hold weekly worship services, small group Bible studies, certificate classes, an annual weekend even called Jubilee, and ongoing support after release – all with the goal of building lasting relationships with incarcerated men that can result in genuine discipleship.
In addition to spiritual transformation in the jail, we’re excited to see how God is changing the very culture of the unit for the better. One person at a time we’re partnering with God to bring freedom even behind bars.
The Jubilee Weekend is a labor of love for all involved. We aim to “talk less, listen more, love always and without reservation.” We do not dismiss the crimes these inmates have committed nor do we minimize the pain and the suffering their actions have caused their victims, their families, and their communities.
Jubilee Weekend is focused on spiritual transformation but we recognize that along with genuine spiritual transformation there will also be behavioral changes that benefit the entire community in which these men live.
